One of the main upsides to buying a custom length belt is having the 3" piece made longer and the adjustment strap shorter. Thereby making your bags sit fully on the main 3" section of the belt and not sliding halfway onto the smaller 2" adjustment strap.
Sizing:
Place your existing tool belt in a straight line and measure from the end of the buckle to the most commonly used hole. That's the measurement I need to fit you correctly. Refer to the last three pictures for an example. If you do not have a tool belt to measure, you can get an "approximate" tool belt size by adding 6" to your pant waist size.
Leather Tanned in U.S.A. by Hermann Oak Tannery
We use all full grain leather of the highest quality.
Main belt is 3" wide by 13-15 oz. Vegetable tanned Herman oak saddle skirting.
Buckle straps are 2" wide by 9-10 oz. latigo.
Buckle is 2" - Stainless Steel
#9 solid copper rivets.
Stitching is braided, bonded polyester thread. Much more strength in braided vs. twisted thread.
Care: Oil the belt, especially the main three inch piece periodically to keep the leather soft and supple while also helping to shed moisture. We use (and sell) Pecard leather products here in the shop but there are several comparable leather care brands out there to choose from.
